About Check A Car

Check A Car helps UK drivers and automotive businesses make safer decisions with instant vehicle history reports and AI buyer insights. We turn a UK registration (VRM) into a report covering tax status, MOT status/history, stolen and write‑off markers, outstanding finance, and mileage consistency (availability varies by vehicle/source), then provide plain‑English guidance to help buyers act.

About the Role

We're seeking a Data Analyst to help us make sense of our growing data sets. You'll work across the business to provide insights that inform strategy and product decisions.

In this role, you'll build dashboards, create reports, and conduct deep-dive analyses. You'll work with large datasets containing vehicle information, user behavior, and business metrics.

This is a great opportunity for someone who loves working with data and wants to see their analysis directly impact business outcomes.

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years of data analysis experience
  • Strong SQL skills and database knowledge
  • Experience with Python or R for data analysis
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.)
  • Understanding of statistical analysis methods
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate findings to non-technical stakeholders

What You'll Do

  • Analyze user behavior across the core funnel (VRM → checkout → report view) and recommend improvements
  • Create dashboards and reports for stakeholders (acquisition, conversion, retention, refunds, support contacts)
  • Help define and maintain KPIs around “report quality” and customer trust (confusion signals, repeat questions, dispute drivers)
  • Deep-dive on operational metrics: payment issues, report access issues, time-to-resolution, and top support themes
  • Partner with Product/Engineering to instrument events correctly and ensure data quality/documentation
  • Identify trends and opportunities across vehicle/report data that inform product direction (without over-claiming)

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary
  • Hybrid working (2-3 days in office)
  • Learning and development budget
  • Conference attendance opportunities
  • Pension contribution
  • 25 days holiday
  • Eye care vouchers
  • Cycle to work scheme

Compensation

£45,000 - £60,000
