About Check A Car
Check A Car helps UK drivers and automotive businesses make safer decisions with instant vehicle history reports and AI buyer insights. We turn a UK registration (VRM) into a report covering tax status, MOT status/history, stolen and write‑off markers, outstanding finance, and mileage consistency (availability varies by vehicle/source), then present clear, plain‑English guidance to help buyers decide what to do next.
About the Role
We’re looking for a Product Manager to own the roadmap across our core user journey (VRM → checkout → report view) and the product quality that drives trust. You’ll prioritize clarity, correctness, and outcomes: fewer confused users, higher conversion, better retention, and a stronger enterprise story.
In this role, you'll use data and user feedback to make informed decisions about what to build next. You'll balance user needs with business goals and technical constraints to deliver maximum value.
This is an exciting opportunity to shape a product that's transforming how people buy vehicles. You'll have significant autonomy and the chance to make a real impact.
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of product management experience
- Strong analytical skills and data-driven mindset
- Experience with user research and usability testing
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management
- Understanding of agile development processes
- Experience with product analytics tools (Mixpanel, Amplitude, etc.)
- Ability to translate user needs into technical requirements
What You'll Do
- Own the roadmap for report experience, buyer guidance, and enterprise‑ready capabilities
- Improve the funnel: VRM input → pricing/checkout → report view, with clear instrumentation and iteration
- Define what “report quality” means: clarity, correctness, evidence, and appropriate caveats
- Run discovery with UK buyers and (where applicable) enterprise users (dealership, insurance, leasing)
- Translate insights into crisp PRDs/user stories, and partner with engineering/design through delivery
- Set and track KPIs (conversion, comprehension, refunds/support contacts, retention) and communicate progress
What We Offer
- Competitive salary and bonus
- Hybrid working (2-3 days in office)
- Stock options
- Professional development opportunities
- 28 days paid holiday
- Private health insurance
- Gym membership
- Monthly team activities
Compensation
£65,000 - £90,000
